Borewell - Casing Pipe and can the casing pipe be enabled or designed for Rain water percolation, to collect water from different layers of aquifer

The borewells we dig of drill are usually drilled to a depth determined by the owner of the plot based on this long term needs, vision and economic viability of the owner at that point in time.

The water aquifers are always layered and are found in various depths.  The borewells usually drill and install the pipe, submersible motor, casing pipes to the depth of the borewell.  The depth of borewell in many cases have crossed 500 feet to 1000 feet depending on need and money.

Is it possible to tap the aquifer at every layer of the borewell?

Let's assume there are aquifer at every 100 feet and in case of 1000 feet borewell the water can be collected through a case filter or pores or screen filters on the iron casing pipe itself.  The cylindrical caching pipes can be completely porous to allow water to filter or seep through at every layer of aquifer identified during borewell installation.   This means that the borewells going dry or need for another borewell may not be required at all. If such a practice is adopted while installing borewells or drilling bores then this approach would be very advantageous.
